FREDERICTON (GNB) – The provincial government is kicking off a year of Canada 150 celebrations by raising more flags to celebrate multiculturalism in New Brunswick.
The government plans to raise a variety of national flags to recognize significant dates, such as national holidays of foreign countries that have a sizable population living in New Brunswick.
“We are proud of our province’s multiculturalism and want to help celebrate the various heritages with our diverse population,” said Deputy Premier Stephen Horsman. “Our government is encouraging multicultural groups and associations across the province to come forward and request to have a flag raised in recognition of a national holiday.”
The national flags will be flown at the legislative assembly in Fredericton.
